Today, we’re launching Face Chime™, a new exclusive Facer feature that gives watch faces their own branded hourly chime, bringing timekeeping to life beyond the screen.

Face Chime is available today on WearOS 6 watches, with support for additional smartwatch platforms coming soon.

🎶 Why Chimes?

At Facer, our core belief has always been that changing your watch face shouldn’t just update the look of your device — it should feel like you’re getting an entirely new smartwatch. That idea has guided everything we build, and Face Chime is the next natural step in that direction.

After months of internal testing of system chimes on various smartwatches and desktop clocks, it became clear to our team that hourly chimes were an undervalued part of the watch experience; they are incredibly useful in keeping track of time in a world that is increasingly filled with distractions, but are often disabled by default, buried in system settings, and… boring.

We felt we could bring that value back to the surface — the Facer way — through a seamless integration with the watch face, and that’s how Face Chime was born. We can’t wait for you to experience it.

A new way to personalize your watch

Thousands of watch faces from top brand partners and the best independent designers in the world are getting updated with Face Chime, an hourly chime customized to your current watch face, giving even more personality to your smartwatch!

Face Chime is opt-in only and respects system behaviors like Do Not Disturb, Silent mode, etc. Faces will chime when you want them to — and stay quiet when you don’t.

Preview chimes while browsing our catalog

Browsing the hundreds of thousands of watch faces on Facer is even more fun than before and will let you preview the Face Chime for each face with just a tap of a button!

A drop-in update for our designers

Our Facer Creator tool was updated to allow for adding Face Chimes to watch faces in just a couple of clicks, making it one of the fastest and most expressive upgrades a creator can offer.

The feature is available to all designers in our Facer Creator Partner Program today, and we expect thousands of new faces to roll out with Face Chimes in the next few weeks.
